Job Details
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily poultry processing and packaging activities to meet production schedules.
- Assign work, balance staffing, and communicate shift priorities and expectations.
- Train and coach employees on operating procedures, safe work practices, and product specifications.
- Enforce GMPs, sanitation procedures, HACCP requirements, and applicable USDA standards.
- Monitor productivity, product yields, labor utilization, waste, and downtime.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to address food safety concerns and product deviations.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and minimize interruptions.
- Maintain accurate production, attendance, training, and safety records.
- Identify improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen team performance.
- Promote a respectful workplace and address employee concerns consistently.
Qualifications
- Previous production leadership experience in food manufacturing; poultry or meat processing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
- Strong employee coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing staffing, production priorities, and performance expectations.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated food processing environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or technical training preferred.
