Production Supervisor

Our client, a manufacturing company based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, is hiring a Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations on the plant floor. This role is responsible for managing shift personnel, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring output meets quality and safety standards.

The Production Supervisor will work closely with plant management, quality control, and maintenance teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone with prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of production line employees
• Monitor daily output and adjust workflows to meet production targets
• Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections
• Train new employees on equipment operation and safety procedures
• Track and report production metrics to plant management
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule equipment repairs
• Address employee performance issues and conduct shift evaluations
• Support implementation of lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
• Experience with production scheduling and inventory tracking systems
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts including occasional weekends
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting software
