Location: On-Site at our Hugoton, Kansas, plant

Shift: Night

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising hourly production employees, coordinating shift operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements.
 
What You'll Do
  • Plan and manage the day-to-day allocation of equipment, personnel, materials, and systems to safely and efficiently meet production targets.
  • Provide direct leadership to hourly union employees, including hiring support, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Champion Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality standards while ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, Planning, and other departments to resolve issues and achieve plant objectives.
  • Manage workforce scheduling, attendance, overtime, and timekeeping through Kronos.
  • Communicate business goals, production targets, and performance expectations consistently across shift teams.
  • Administer and interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) while maintaining positive labor relations.
  • Lead investigations into safety, quality, and environmental incidents using Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements and all plant policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

About You

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Experience leading teams in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), GMP, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and Quality systems.

Experience & Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience leading and motivating teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage others
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across departments
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions
  • Demonstrated success driving operational improvements and change initiatives
  • Ability to manage conflict professionally while creating an inclusive workplace culture

Preferred

  • Experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG)
  • Experience with Kronos or similar workforce management systems
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
