About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising hourly production employees, coordinating shift operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

Plan and manage the day-to-day allocation of equipment, personnel, materials, and systems to safely and efficiently meet production targets.
Provide direct leadership to hourly union employees, including hiring support, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Champion Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality standards while ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, Planning, and other departments to resolve issues and achieve plant objectives.
Manage workforce scheduling, attendance, overtime, and timekeeping through Kronos.
Communicate business goals, production targets, and performance expectations consistently across shift teams.
Administer and interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) while maintaining positive labor relations.
Lead investigations into safety, quality, and environmental incidents using Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
Ensure compliance with Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements and all plant policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

About You

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment.
Experience leading teams in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), GMP, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and Quality systems.

Experience & Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience leading and motivating teams in a manufacturing environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage others
Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across departments
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions
Demonstrated success driving operational improvements and change initiatives
Ability to manage conflict professionally while creating an inclusive workplace culture

Preferred

Experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG)
Experience with Kronos or similar workforce management systems
Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
Experience working in a unionized environment
