Production Support (SRE)

Job Title: SRE lead

Location : Jersey City, NJ(5 Days Onsite)

Exp: 12+ Yrs

Rate: $70/hrs. Contract

Note: This is Production Support team and customer is looking for production support person who knows SRE and is well versed with working with SRE tools and technologies. The person is going to be contributing 50-60 % of time on Prod Support, triaging issues. They should have a strong understanding of code and logic and be able to make a judgement on how to solve the issue. Strong in Java Full stack core fundamentals.

They already have SRE ,automation etc, in place. They created a lot of SRE job aids. The person can easily use it. For eg: AI driven Toil reduction. That''s why someone who understands SRE stack and has strong experience in Prod Support is desired.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and drive Site Reliability Engineering initiatives across enterprise applications.
• Define, implement, and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and reliability metrics.
• Establish observability and monitoring frameworks using tools such as Prometheus and related monitoring platforms.
• Partner with development teams to improve application performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Lead Performance Engineering and Testing activities, including load testing, capacity planning, and performance Eligible to workimization.
• Develop and automate operational processes using scripting and programming languages.
• Drive incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to support and Eligible to workimize both Monolithic and Microservices-based architectures.
• Implement cloud-native reliability and automation solutions on AWS.
• Evaluate and leverage AI-driven copilot and Claude.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of IT experience with significant experience in Site Reliability Engineering.

• Strong expertise in Performance Engineering, Testing, and Application Monitoring.

• Hands-on experience with Prometheus and observability platforms.

• Deep understanding of SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and reliability best practices.

• Strong development experience in:

• Python

• Java

• Experience with AWS Cloud Services and cloud-native architectures.

• Strong understanding of:

• Monolithic Architecture

• Microservices Architecture

• Experience in automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
