    Position Summary

The Production Test Engineer supports manufacturing test operations across product development, transition to production, sustained production, and depot activities. This role ensures product hardware and test equipment meet technical data package requirements, resolves test failures, and drives improvements to yield, capacity, and test efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support test activities across development, production transition, sustained production, and depot environments
    • Validate product hardware and test equipment against technical data package requirements
    • Troubleshoot test failures and provide clear rework, repair, and fault-isolation direction
    • Develop and maintain test flows, capacity analysis, test instructions, drawings, manuals, and supporting system software
    • Lead efforts to reduce test time and improve yield, throughput, and production capacity
    • Maintain test equipment spares, obsolescence plans, and related documentation
    • Create Basis of Estimates for added capacity, new test capability, and equipment obsolescence needs
    • Support manufacturing changes through Process Change Boards and engineering changes through Configuration Change Boards
    • Perform prove-in validation following approved process or configuration changes
    • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations using fault trees, failure trends, and structured problem-solving methods
    • Support risk assessments, risk register reviews, and assigned project execution activities

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience in production test, manufacturing test, test engineering, or product qualification
    • Experience troubleshooting hardware, test equipment, or system-level test failures
    • Experience working with technical data packages, engineering drawings, test procedures, and manufacturing instructions
    • Experience with fault isolation, root cause analysis, corrective action, or failure investigations
    • Ability to improve test processes related to yield, cycle time, capacity, or efficiency
    • Strong technical communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Process Change Boards, Configuration Change Boards, or prove-in validation
    • Experience maintaining test equipment documentation, spares, upgrades, or obsolescence plans
    • Experience developing test flows, production metrics, capacity models, or test instructions
    • Experience creating Basis of Estimates or supporting cost and capacity planning
    • Experience leading technical projects or supporting Cost Account Management activities
    • Aerospace, defense, depot, or complex electronics manufacturing experience

    What Success Looks Like

    • Resolves production test failures with accurate, actionable technical direction
    • Improves test yield, capacity, and cycle time through data-driven process improvements
    • Maintains compliant test documentation and validates changes before release
    • Drives assigned projects, corrective actions, and production improvements through completion
