Job Description
We are seeking a Manager, Strategic PMO to lead and provide operational oversight of a Strategic PMO team of Senior Project Managers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in strategic PMO leadership, enterprise customer implementations, portfolio and financial management, and executive stakeholder engagement and a proven ability to govern complex delivery, drive predictable outcomes, mitigate risk, and improve operational maturity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide operational oversight of AECO's Strategic PMO team of Senior Project Managers.
- Oversee complex, high-value, high-visibility enterprise customer engagements with effective governance and delivery execution.
- Establish delivery priorities, monitor project health, and proactively manage scope, schedule, financials, resources, and expectations.
- Lead executive-level customer engagements, escalations, recovery planning, and cross-functional issue resolution.
- Build trusted relationships with executives and internal stakeholders across Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support, and Engineering.
- Coach and develop Senior Project Managers with clear expectations for performance, ownership, communication, and accountability.
- Monitor strategic portfolio financials including budgets, revenue, margin, scope consumption, and forecast accuracy.
- Partner with Resource Management and delivery leadership to resolve capacity constraints and resource needs.
- Maintain PMO governance, executive reporting, risk management, escalation protocols, and operating rhythms.
- Provide leadership with actionable portfolio insights, recommendations, and delivery performance visibility.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, team effectiveness, and PMO maturity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strategic project and program management across complex portfolios.
- Enterprise customer implementation leadership within Professional Services.
- PMO leadership and governance with process standardization and operational maturity.
- People leadership with coaching and development of senior project managers.
- Executive stakeholder management and customer relationship management.
- Project financial management including revenue, margin, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Portfolio management, resource planning, and risk management with escalation resolution.
- Executive reporting, communication, and data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with PSA, CRM, and project portfolio management tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Strategic analysis and business acumen to translate portfolio and financial data into actions.
- Experience with Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or similar delivery frameworks.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or related project/program management certifications preferred.
