Capital University Law School seeks to hire a full-time Professor of Clinical Studies and Associate Director of the General Litigation Clinic to begin in the summer of 2026. This is a full-time faculty position. The Professor and Associate Director will be eligible for long-term contract status which provides security of position and will have full voting rights at faculty meetings on all matters (including hiring), except matters pertaining to tenure and promotion of tenure-track faculty.
Our General Litigation Clinic represents clients in a broad range of areas, including general civil, criminal defense, wills and probate, domestic relations, and landlord-tenant, and it places and oversees students working in local mayor's courts. The Professor and Associate Director helps manage Clinic operations, teaches and supervises students, and participates in faculty governance. Serving in this position requires legal experience in multiple practice areas, including domestic relations, landlord-tenant, and criminal defense; experience in managing a small-medium law firm or legal clinic; strong skills in organization, analysis, and oral and written communications; and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with integrity and professionalism.
Management of Legal Clinic Operations: The Professor and Associate Director works with the Director to manage all aspects of the General Litigation Clinic. Specifically, the Professor and Associate Director:
Training, Education, and Supervision of Students: The Professor and Associate Director supervises, instructs, and mentors legal interns. Specifically, the Professor and Associate Director:
