Program Assistant Supervisor

UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is seeking a Program Assistant Supervisor to join our team!

Our 14-bed residential program serves adults living with serious and persistent mental health conditions, most commonly schizophrenia, in a voluntary, long-term setting. With low resident turnover, we've built a close-knit community where residents and staff develop lasting relationships and provide meaningful support every day.

As the Program Assistant Supervisor, you'll help oversee a team of 10 direct care professionals alongside the Program Supervisor, ensuring exceptional care and support for residents. Our team assists individuals with all aspects of daily living, including medication administration, healthcare coordination, budgeting and bill management, community engagement, and developing the skills needed to maintain independence and quality of life.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an emerging leader looking to build supervisory experience in a supportive environment. You'll work closely with a small, dedicated team and receive ongoing guidance from an on-site supervisor, providing the mentorship and hands-on leadership development needed to grow your management skills and confidently advance your career!

Key Information:

• Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday, 8a-4p, but will require some variable shifts (evenings/weekends/overnights as needed for program coverage. On call required every other month.

Responsibilities:

• Support program operations by assisting with staff training, onboarding, supervision, scheduling, payroll, and on-call coverage.

• Help ensure regulatory compliance through record views, documentation oversight, licensing support, and monthly reporting.

• Monitor budgets, maintain training records, and support administrative functions to promote efficient program operations.

• Build collaborative relationships with consumers, families, treatment teams, and community partners while supporting individualized treatment goals.

• Provide direct consumer support, including therapeutic activities, referrals, admissions/discharges, case management, and transportation as needed.

• Bachelors degree AND (1 one year related experience.

• Will consider any equivalent combination of experience and training as approved by regulatory bodies and Program Director.

• Extensive knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

• Extensive knowledge of theories, principles, and techniques related to services provided.

• If applicable, familiarity with medication monitoring practices. Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel
