Samaritan''s Purse is seeking a Program Manager to join our Information Technology department, working in Boone, NC. As a Program Manager, you will provide program management and in-house consultation to Samaritan''s Purse staff, helping them effectively plan, deploy, and use technology to advance the Ministry''s work. By combining your knowledge of IT practices with Samaritan''s Purse''s ministry goals, you will help plan, develop, and deploy systems and technology solutions that meet organizational needs. You will also collaborate across the Information Technology department and serve as a liaison to ministries and departments, including international field locations, to assess requirements, coordinate resources, and support impactful technology initiatives. A day in the life of a Program Manager:

In the role of Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • Build and manage working relationships between IT and assigned business units or program areas within the organization.
  • Identify and understand technology needs and drive solution delivery for assigned areas, with involvement in relevant IT projects from concept to delivery.
  • Drive collaboration and communication across teams and departments to shape IT solution delivery and business unit IT portfolios.
  • Manage projects as necessary and ensure that IT projects within assigned program areas align with the organization''s strategic objectives.
  • Lead business analysis and user acceptance testing activities, as needed, when dedicated resources are not allocated.
  • Coordinate activities and dependencies across projects to control program timelines and budget.
  • Utilize project management tools (i.e Jira) to develop and manage project and/or program plans.
  • Assess resource requirements of technology projects and recommend whether project teams should be staffed internally or outsourced.
  • Manage the relationship between relevant vendors and internal IT teams.
  • Provide oversight for the implementation of solutions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor''s degree in a relevant field and/or five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • PMP or PgMP certification preferred, but not required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile or Waterfall methodologies, with a general understanding of software quality assurance (QA), user acceptance testing (UAT), and the ability to analyze and interpret business, technical, and regulatory information.

  • General knowledge of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and project management tools such as Jira, Workfront, or similar platforms.

  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
