    Job Description

Have you ever thought about what it takes to detect and prevent fraudulent purchases among hundreds of millions of e-Commerce transactions in different countries? What would you do to create a trusted marketplace where millions of buyers and sellers can safely transact online? What kinds of processes and systems would you build to maximize customer satisfaction? Amazon is seeking a Program Manager who is passionate about process improvements, has strong bias for action and experience leading cross functional and global teams.

Buyer Risk Prevention (BRP) designs and builds the software systems, risk models and operational processes that minimize risk and maximize trust in Amazon. Not only do we protect all aspects of the Amazon shopping experience, we also deliver services to large and small merchants hosted on the Amazon platform. In addition, we evaluate new business opportunities from across the company to determine how we can minimize the risk associated with new initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to support the WW Credit Card fraud vertical. In this role, you will own the global strategy for monitoring Credit Card fraud prevention and bad debt mitigation programs across the retail portfolio. You will operate at the intersection of fraud prevention, regulatory compliance (e.g., PSD2/TRA), and customer experience, ensuring Amazon maintains trust and minimizes payment risk losses across global markets.

    Key job responsibilities

Own fraud and bad debt performance within the WW credit card portfolio, monitoring loss rates against VP-level goals and driving corrective action when metrics breach targets.

Develop and maintain fraud prevention mechanisms across the retail and digital cohorts including chargeback, ATO, and account-level fraud controls.

Investigate emerging fraud modus operandi (MO), size the loss exposure, and partner with data science and engineering to close detection and prevention gaps.

Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews (WBR/MBR/QBR), leading with the key loss metric and surfacing loss drivers, gaps, and mitigation plans.

Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Payment Risk, engineering, data science, and partner teams to deliver fraud mitigation roadmaps.

Define and track guardrails for launches and dial-up decisions, balancing fraud exposure against revenue and customer experience.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
