About the job

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish - working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It"s your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Through sophisticated, data-driven forecasting and long-range planning, we anticipate future needs, identify potential constraints, and proactively mitigate risks long before they impact operations. We are the architects of a resilient and optimized supply chain, working cross-functionally to develop the innovative strategies that enable our network to scale for the challenges of tomorrow. As our hardware infrastructure and data center footprint expands exponentially, we face the critical challenge of strategically planning our transportation network to stay ahead of demand. This is not just a logistics operations role; it"s a strategic capacity planning opportunity at the heart of our growth engine, driving the efficiency of a $3-4B annual logistics spend.

In this pivotal role, you will build the critical planning infrastructure that provides the forecast signals necessary to create robust, forward-looking transportation strategies. You will develop the blueprint that dictates how we scale our transportation capabilities for the next decade, ensuring that our infrastructure can be deployed anywhere in the world with speed, efficiency, and precision.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization's ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google's cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve predictive models used to forecast long-range capacity requirements, deliberately layering in complex network and sourcing strategies.
  • Provide strategic insights derived from these forecast signals to directly shape transportation operations, including developing milk run strategies, executing carrier capacity planning, and right-sizing the dedicated fleet.
  • Establish and lead monthly forecast reviews and a recurring planning cadence with cross-functional partners (Transportation Operations, Sourcing, Finance), communicating assumptions, risks, and strategic recommendations to achieve consensus on the network roadmap.
  • Author compelling business cases, rooted in capacity forecast data and ROI analysis, to secure critical transportation infrastructure investments and support the annual and quarterly budgeting cycles.
