    West River Mental Health is currently accepting applications for a Program Manager to lead our Outpatient Program in Rapid City.

    About the Position

    The Program Manager plays a key leadership role within our Outpatient Program, providing clinical and operational support while helping guide and develop a team of counseling professionals.

    In this role, you will provide direct supervision to counseling staff regarding clinical and non-clinical practices, support the delivery of high-quality mental health services, and maintain a direct connection to client care.

    The successful candidate will be a collaborative and supportive leader with strong clinical, assessment, and therapeutic skills. The ability to partner with a multidisciplinary team and promote family-driven, strength-based services is essential.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Providing direct supervision, guidance, and support to counseling staff
    • Supporting both clinical and non-clinical practices within the program
    • Providing direct client care and maintaining clinical involvement
    • Promoting high-quality, person-centered behavioral healthcare services
    • Identifying and supporting staff training and professional development needs
    • Implementing training and development opportunities to support agency standards, licensing requirements, and best practices
    • Partnering with agency leadership and other professionals to ensure coordinated and effective services
    • Supporting a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional who enjoys developing others, supporting a team, and continuing to make a direct impact through clinical work.

    Education and Experience

    Candidates must have:

    • A Master's degree in a human services-related field
    • Licensure in the State of South Dakota to practice mental health counseling
    • Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) certification or eligibility
    • A minimum of two years of post-graduate experience

    Previous leadership or supervisory experience is valued, as is a passion for supporting staff development and building strong, collaborative teams.
