Location: Washington – DC
Job Type: Contract

This is a remote role; candidate need to come onsite once in a quarter for PI meeting to Washington – DC (on own expenses).

The Senior Program Manager will support the successful delivery of projects and programs by coordinating project activities, managing stakeholder communications, tracking performance metrics, and providing operational support to program leadership. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, project teams, and leadership to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in project coordination, reporting, and business operations support.

Preferred Qualifications

PMP Certified
SAP Ariba for Invoice reconciliation

Key Responsibilities

Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site technology deployment projects.
Manage program budget, costs, and financial tracking.
Own schedule management, milestones, and delivery reporting.
Monitor and communicate program risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
Ensure compliance with Amtrak policies, governance, and project controls.
Liaise with procurement and manage contract change orders and invoicing.
Accrual Based Accounting – manages accruals, monitors deliverables, marking goods receipted,
Finance forecasts – distills labor amounts, anticipated vendor spend, and other associated project costs on a monthly basis and submits to finance
Project Status Updates – keeps running list of project accomplishments, risks, milestones and monitors performance to baseline on a monthly basis.
Project Schedules – Manages project schedules, continually updates milestones and project phase gates.
Key Software: Sharepoint, EPPM Masterworks, MS Excel Mastery, ARIBA is required.
