Position Title:

Program Supervisor - DBE & SBE - (26141728)

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Program Supervisor - DBE & SBE. This position is responsible for the ongoing development and administration of multiple Civil Rights programs, including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, and DBE/SBE Supportive Services. Responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with applicable standards and requirements. This position occasionally travels around the state to program sites, conferences, and trainings. There is also occasional out-of-state travel to conferences. This position reports to the OCR Bureau Chief and supervises four employees.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication, Education, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience in program management, reporting and analysis, and general accounting practices.
  • 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.

Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 7 years of related experience and 2 years of supervisors or team lead experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bulleted list of qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Experience in building relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures as well as internal and external agency contacts.

Ability to analyze and evaluate information to develop policies and/or guides.

Concepts and theories of program planning, administration specifically federally funded programs.

Proficient in Excel.

The successful candidate must pass a name-based background investigation as a condition of employment.

The advertised salary includes the 2.5% increase passed by the 2025 MT State Legislature regarding the state pay plan effective July 1, 2026.
