Job Title: Programmer / Setup Machinist
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Range: $26 – $32 per hour Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Programmer/Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team in a contract-to-hire role. This position requires strong machining knowledge, hands-on programming experience, and the ability to set up and run precision CNC equipment in a job shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up CNC machines for production runs
Program at the machine using G & M codes (Fanuc controller) and/or Mazatrol
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Perform offsets and make necessary machine adjustments
Change and manage cutting tools as required
Inspect parts and ensure quality standards are met throughout production
Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
10+ years of CNC machining and setup experience preferred
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing
Experience with on-machine programming (Fanuc and/or Mazatrol)
Ability to perform precise setups in a job shop or production environment
Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
Ability to work independently and solve problems on the floor
