Programming / Development SAP (ABAP) Level 3 - Staff Software Engineer

Location: Bethesda, MD, 20817 (Full-time Virtual/Remote)

About the Role

Join an innovative technology team supporting Lockheed Martin's flagship 1LMX (One Lockheed Martin Transformation) program as a Staff Software Engineer specializing in SAP ABAP for Payroll. You will be a key contributor in optimizing, integrating, and supporting mission-critical payroll applications. Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support SAP Payroll solutions using ABAP and related SAP technologies.
• Provide expert troubleshooting and triage during the Hypercare phase for Employee Central Payroll extensions and integrations.
• Design, implement, and maintain integrations within SAP CPI, leveraging Groovy scripting as required.
• Configure and script SaaS applications to streamline payroll processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve application issues efficiently and communicate solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in end-to-end software engineering activities, including requirement analysis, design, testing, and deployment.

Required Skills and Experience

• 15+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP programming and troubleshooting expertise.
• Proven experience with SAP Payroll platforms, including Employee Central Payroll.
• Robust background in SAP CPI integration development and Groovy scripting.
• Deep knowledge of SAP full life cycle implementations, including application integration.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive tasks to completion in a virtual team setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and JIRA.
• Exposure to SAP FIORI, UI5, BTP, AL11, and ODATA.
• Experience developing web service integrations.
