Project Accountant

Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 + Performance Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Accountant will own full-cycle project accounting for multiple real estate development projects, including:

Job cost accounting and capitalization
Preparing and reviewing detailed workpapers
Construction loan draw preparation and reconciliation
Lot settlement accounting (HUDs, purchase agreements, sales journals)
Contract review and revenue treatment analysis
General ledger entries and account reconciliations
Month-end and year-end close support
Supporting tax workpapers and GAAP/tax basis financial reporting
Cash management and banking activity

This Senior Project Accountant must be comfortable operating independently and serving as the technical resource within development accounting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Finance must have strong debits/credits experience)
6+ years of real estate development, construction, or project accounting experience
Strong understanding of development cost accounting and capitalization
Experience preparing detailed workpapers
Experience with lot settlements and contract interpretation
Strong Excel skills
Experience working within accounting systems
