Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale deepwater subsea construction projects. This role is responsible for the overall management of project performance including safety, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction. The Project Director will provide strategic leadership across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI), ensuring successful delivery of subsea infrastructure such as pipelines, umbilicals, risers, subsea structures, and associated offshore installation activities in deep and ultra deep-water environments This position requires extensive experience managing complex offshore construction projects and coordinating with vessel operations, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of offshore subsea construction projects, from project initiation through installation and commissioning.
  • Provide strategic oversight for project planning, execution strategy, and resource allocation
  • Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement, fabrication, and offshore installation teams

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring cost control and profitability
  • Oversee contract execution and manage change orders, claims, and commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company governance standards

Offshore Construction & Installation

  • Direct offshore construction activities including subsea installation, pipeline installation, heavy lift operations, and subsea tie-ins
  • Coordinate vessel mobilization, installation campaigns, and offshore logistics
  • Ensure all work is executed safely and efficiently in compliance with offshore regulations

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Serve as the primary interface with clients, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on project milestones
  • Lead regular project reviews and executive reporting
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and joint-venture partners

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure compliance with offshore safety regulations and company standards
  • Oversee risk management, hazard analysis, and mitigation strategies for offshore construction operations

Team Leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams including project managers, engineering leads, construction managers, and offshore supervisors
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project personnel while ensuring accountability for project performance

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in offshore oil & gas, subsea construction, or marine construction projects
  • Proven leadership experience managing large offshore EPCI projects, including responsibility for contracts, budgets, risk, and project values in the tens to hundreds of millions of dollars
  • Extensive experience with subsea installation, including pipelines, risers, umbilicals, and subsea structures in deepwater environments
  • Strong knowledge of offshore installation methods, construction vessels, ROVs, and subsea systems
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk across complex offshore projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
