A Day in the Life of a Project Director
As a Project Director, you'll start your day with a clear view of your projects' overall performance, reviewing schedules, budgets, scopes, and priorities to ensure work is progressing toward successful completion. You'll have overall responsibility for managing projects from estimating through closeout, ensuring they are delivered on time, within agreed specifications, and to the highest quality standards. You'll use Xactimate and other professional estimating software to develop accurate scopes and estimates, applying your deep construction knowledge and understanding of true project costs to protect margins and support profitability.
Throughout the day, you'll work closely with clients, adjusters, subcontractors, business development teams, and internal leaders to keep projects moving forward. You'll buy out jobs with qualified subcontractors, communicate and present clear estimates and scopes of work, and help develop strong relationships with both new and existing clients. You'll also support marketing and business development efforts while partnering with those teams on collection activities to ensure financial commitments are met and projects remain healthy from both an operational and financial perspective.
You'll also provide leadership and direction to delivery teams, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with First Onsite standards and applicable legislative requirements. You'll monitor project performance, address challenges, and use your expertise to make informed decisions that balance quality, schedule, customer expectations, and profitability. Every day, your leadership and construction expertise will help bring together people, projects, and financial strategy to deliver exceptional results for customers while supporting the continued success of First Onsite.
