Branch is searching for a highly skilled, team-oriented Bridge/Structural Project Engineer to join our well-established, growing company. The Bridge/Structural Project Engineer oversees all engineering and technical aspects of the project, with a strong emphasis on organizing and planning, to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and provides support in project safety, documentation, plans and specifications, construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, projections, and project closeout.ResponsibilitiesMeasure, report and forecast accurate cost and revenue dollars and quantitiesFully review contract documents, drawings and specificationsAssist Pre‑Construction Services/Project Manager (PM) in defining project budget and cost codesPrepare initial budget adjustments for PM review prior to start of workEnsure the acquisition of permits, through appropriate channels, as requiredMaintain and update RFI Log, Change Order Log, and Submittal LogMaintain and update the Materials Book – C25s/Certs/Etc.Support quality control/ensure approved materials are being usedDraft and submit change orders per PM approvalDraft and submit RFIs per PM approvalFirst level approval of subcontractor invoices for PM final approvalReview and submit end of month billingsDevelop and communicate an effective plan in cooperation with the superintendentMonitor work to ensure means and methods are followed and effectiveMaintain and update project schedule for PM reviewPromote Branch safety culturePerform pre‑punch list walk‑through with PM and SuperintendentEnforce contract close‑out timeline and reconcile with subcontractorsReview cost data for accuracy and assist PM in generation of projection updatesQualificationsRequired Qualifications: Experience working on Bridge/Structural construction projectsPreferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in engineering/Construction and two years of experience in heavy civil NCDOT/large site constructionTravelExtensive travel within the Northern Carolina Region.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
