Project Engineer - Construction Management (Entry Level)

General Summary:

The Project Engineer works alongside project managers to help deliver commercial

construction projects, primarily ground-up industrial, with office, medical,

tenant improvement/build-out, and remodel work. This is an entry-level construction

management position on Premier''s project delivery team, it is not a design

engineering role, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license is neither required nor

used in this position. The Project Engineer supports the project manager with RFI

and submittal tracking, document control, permitting, scheduling, bidding, meeting

documentation, and project closeout, and participates in design coordination and

owner/client interaction. It is the first step on the path to Assistant Project

Manager and Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists with project administration: RFI and submittal tracking, permit status

tracking, contract document maintenance, critical-path schedule development and

maintenance, meeting documentation, bid solicitation, proposal qualification, and

change tracking.

2. Assists with problem solving, coordination with consultants and subcontractors,

and field communications.

3. Represents the company professionally in project and strategy meetings.

4. Interprets and explains plans and contract terms to staff, trades, and clients

as needed.

5. Prepares reports on work progress, scheduling, and permitting.

6. Works with the superintendent to help plan, organize, and direct onsite activities.

7. Compiles as-built and closeout documents, develops and tracks punch lists, and

addresses warranty claims post-completion.

8. Takes full ownership of assigned projects and contributes to a strong team culture.

9. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building

Construction/Construction Science, Architecture, or a related field - or

equivalent field/internship experience.

• 0-3 years of construction experience; recent graduates and those with internship

or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with construction management software (Procore or similar), MS Office,

and scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6) a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work on and travel to jobsites in the Columbus area.
• This position requires working from a combination of in-office and onsite jobsite locations daily; valid driver''s license required.

Salary range: $65,000-$75,000 annually plus benefits.
