Our client is a premier residential General Contractor specializing in ground-up custom homes and sophisticated high-end renovations throughout Westchester and the surrounding New York market. Their portfolio includes luxury estates, custom residences, major interior renovations, and architect-driven projects requiring exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Job Description
As a Project Engineer - Construction - Westchester, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of construction
- Assisting with both ground-up custom homes and high-end residential renovations
- Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, architects, designers, and consultants
- Assisting with budgeting, cost tracking, and project reporting
- Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings
- Supporting procurement and tracking long-lead materials
- Maintaining project schedules and tracking critical milestones
- Assisting with custom millwork, cabinetry, stone, tile, and specialty finish packages
- Participating in project meetings and documenting action items
- Conducting site visits and supporting field coordination
- Assisting with punch lists, closeout, and homeowner turnover

The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
- 1-4 years of construction experience
- Experience with ground-up custom home construction
- Experience with high-end residential interior renovations
- Exposure to luxury homes, estates, apartments, townhomes, or other custom residential projects
- Understanding of custom millwork, cabinetry, stone, tile, architectural detailing, and luxury finishes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Understanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project controls
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and appreciation for high-quality craftsmanship
- Desire to advance into an Assistant Project Manager and eventually Project Manager position
