Job Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Project Engineer to support our construction management team. This role works directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure field execution aligns with project goals for budget, safety, and schedule. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Upholds and promotes the Thompson Mission, Vision and Values
- Maintain and update logs (change order, gravel, concrete)
- Create cost estimates and material comparison worksheets
- Travel to job sites and support field leadership
- Manage project invoicing, documentation, and logs
- Perform hands-on tasks when required to support the team
- Assists Superintendent - obtain all required documentation including certificates, lien wavers, disclaimers, warrantees, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned/needed up to and including all laborer duties
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, Pro-Contractor, and Bluebeam
- Strong understanding of construction documents
- Effective time and task management
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Valid driver’s license
- CPR and First Aid (training provided)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in construction environments
- Must be able to crouch, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
- Commute to Columbus, OH when needed.
