Role Description
The Project Engineer reports to the Director of Engineering and serves as the primary engineering representative for assigned VIP aircraft completion projects. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts, managing project execution, and ensuring technical, schedule, and financial objectives are achieved.
The Project Engineer leads the integration of engineering disciplines—including Structures, Mechanical Systems, Electrical, Avionics, and Interior Design—while interfacing with Program Management, Production, Outside Service Vendors (OSVs), and regulatory authorities. This position ensures all engineering deliverables support successful Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) development and aircraft completion in compliance with 14 CFR / EASA Part 25 requirements.
Essential Job Functions
· Serve as the primary Engineering Liaison, resolving engineering and production discrepancies and ensuring fit, form, and function requirements are achieved while considering manufacturing capabilities and constraints.
· Coordinate and lead cross-functional engineering teams to develop certifiable interior completion designs in accordance with aircraft manufacturer data and engineering best practices.
· Interface with Structures, Mechanical Systems, Electrical, Avionics, and Interior Engineering teams to ensure design integration and compliance for STC projects involving large transport category aircraft.
· Develop and manage integrated project schedules, ensuring alignment of engineering deliverables with program milestones, resource availability, and customer commitments.
· Lead project planning, tracking, and reporting activities, including schedule performance, risk assessments, and financial tracking.
· Ensure visibility of engineering project status across leadership, program management, and finance teams to support prioritization and resource planning decisions.
· Establish and maintain project execution frameworks and processes across multiple engineering teams, ensuring consistency and efficiency in project delivery.
· Prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations, and status updates to program teams, leadership, and customers.
· Develop, maintain, and manage project budgets, including tracking engineering labor, materials, and outside services.
· Coordinate technical interfaces with Outside Service Vendors (OSVs), ensuring scope, deliverables, and timelines are clearly defined and executed.
· Support the development and continuous improvement of Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) and engineering processes.
· Support certification efforts by coordinating with regulatory authorities and ensuring engineering data packages meet compliance requirements.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required. (Equivalent combination: 12+ years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
· Minimum 7–10 years of experience in aircraft completions, engineering project planning, or certification within a Part 25 environment.
· Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects, including scheduling, cost tracking, and resource planning.
· Experience implementing project management tools, systems, and reporting methodologies.
· Working knowledge of STC development and certification processes.
· Valid passport with the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Required Skills and Abilities
· Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
· Proficiency in engineering and project management tools including AutoCAD (preferred), Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Strong understanding of aircraft interior systems and engineering documentation standards.
· Proven ability to work independently and lead cross-functional engineering teams.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in complex technical environments.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and cost performance.
· Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand aviation environment.

This position is based in an aircraft hangar environment and may involve:
· Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
