As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will coordinate mechanical design reviews, fabrication, procurement, testing, and project execution for custom glovebox assemblies and integrated systems. Flexible work hours, including four-day workweek or other schedule options

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
3+ years of experience in project engineering, mechanical design, project management, or hands-on custom equipment fabrication
General Requirements
Direct experience or a high comfort level working in fabrication, shop, or manufacturing environments with stainless steel, structural weldments, and piping or tubing systems
Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, perform basic engineering and cost evaluations, track project budgets, and adapt to scope changes
U.S. citizenship
Ability to pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, and background investigation
High awareness of safe working practices and procedures
Essential Functions
Lead project execution, technical design reviews, fabrication, and project management for custom glovebox assemblies and integrated systems
Build production work packages and collaborate daily with welders, fabricators, and assemblers
Resolve manufacturing and fit-up issues hands-on, on the shop floor
Review and support 2D and 3D CAD models in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including structural layouts, piping layouts, and work packages
Develop project timelines, monitor milestones, and manage project risks
Track fabrication hours and allocate resources to keep projects on schedule and within budget
Coordinate with vendors to specify, quote, and procure materials, component parts, and specialized glovebox hardware
Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), leak testing, and system commissioning
Verify that all builds meet customer specifications, quality assurance programs, and industry safety standards
Serve as the main link between design engineering, shop production, and project execution
