    NOW HIRING: PROJECT ENGINEER – HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

    FULL TIME


    Opportunity

    A well-established heavy civil construction company is seeking a Project Engineer to work closely with the Project Team and Field Management to help deliver safe, high-quality, and profitable projects.

    This role will support project execution across submittals, shop drawings, scheduling, procurement, job cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, field operations, and client communication, while helping the project team meet or exceed budget and operating profit goals.

    What You’ll Do (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)

    Project Documentation & Controls

    • Track project quantities daily and reconcile them monthly for payment purposes
    • Review foremen’s daily reports to ensure information is properly recorded
    • Document Time and Material operations and reconcile them with the client
    • Support project quality personnel

    Submittals & Procurement

    • Produce and manage project submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications
    • Ensure required documentation is submitted and approved before work begins
    • Assist with the buyout process and prepare requisitions
    • Produce complete purchase orders after approval by the Project Manager

    Subcontractor Coordination

    • Understand key operational details of subcontracts
    • Hold subcontractors accountable to their agreements
    • Attend subcontractor coordination meetings
    • Provide updates regarding schedules, drawings, and specifications

    Scheduling & Field Operations

    • Participate in developing Four Week Look Ahead schedules with Superintendents
    • Incorporate resources, submittals, approvals, lead times, restraints, and milestones into project planning
    • Participate in relevant daily huddles
    • Support the project team in constructing projects efficiently and profitably

    Client & Team Relationships

    • Establish strong working and professional relationships with clients and their representatives
    • Maintain effective communication with field inspectors
    • Work closely with Project Teams and Field Management throughout project execution

    What You Bring (Qualifications & Education)

    Education

    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with 1+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.

    Experience

    • Heavy Civil Construction experience is required
    • Experience with structures or site civil excavation is preferred

    Skills

    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, P6, HCSS, and ERP systems
    • Working knowledge of estimating and engineering
    • Experience with cost tracking systems is a plus
    • Knowledge of site surveying is a plus
