Project Engineer - Westchester County, NY

A high-end residential construction management firm is hiring a Project Engineer for a project in Westchester County, New York. On site five days a week. Permanent position.

This is the technical role on the job. You support the Construction Supervisor in getting the work built accurately to the plans and specifications, and the weight of the role sits on drawings, layout and checking the work as it goes up.

What you would be doing

• Check field dimensions against the plans and specifications, and flag discrepancies to the project team and the Construction Supervisor before they become rework.
• Review shop drawings for conformance with the design documents.
• Build the coordinated drawings the project team and the subcontractors work from.
• Assist the Construction Supervisor with field layout.
• Perform take-offs.
• Run plan management, submittals and RFIs in Procore.
• Work with subcontractors, architects and the design team to clear field and drawing coordination issues.
• Step in on site supervision when it is needed.

What the role requires

• Strong Revit. This is the core skill of the job. AutoCAD and Procore alongside it.
• A four-year degree in Engineering or Architecture.
• We are open to candidates earlier in their career. What matters is that the Revit is genuinely strong and that you can read a drawing set against what is actually built.
• High-end residential experience is preferred, not required.
• Able to work on site in Westchester County, New York, five days a week. There is no remote half to this job.
• Strong technical and organizational skills, and real attention to detail.

Compensation and benefits

$80-90K, depending on experience.

A monthly company allowance toward the healthcare plan you select, which can cover you and your dependents, available after a 90-day probationary period. The allowance is set by benefit class. A 401(k) open to all full-time employees, with a 3% company contribution paid whether or not you contribute yourself. Seven paid company holidays plus two floating days, usable to volunteer or to observe a holiday the firm does not. 120 hours of paid time off a year, combining vacation and sick time and used at your discretion, rising to 160 hours after five years; it is calculated at hire rather than accrued, prorated in your first year from your start date to 31 December, and up to 40 hours carry over. Dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, FSA and HSA plans, and a range of supplemental coverage alongside.
