The Project Liaison Manager serves as the key interface between capital project teams and plant operations to ensure alignment, operational readiness, and effective execution. This role integrates capital project activities with site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production, quality, and operational requirements.

This position partners with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to minimize disruption, support commissioning and startup, and ensure a successful transition to steady-state operations.

Pay Range: Grade 8 - $89,695 - $134,545

  • Serves as the primary interface between project teams and plant operations, translating project scope, timelines, and deliverables into clear operational requirements.
  • Ensures alignment with plant priorities including safety, quality, productivity, and yield performance.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Environmental, and Logistics teams to support project execution.
  • Leads planning and plant readiness activities for installations, shutdowns, tie-ins, commissioning, and startup.
  • Ensures operational requirements including procedures, training, and staffing are established and executed.
  • Supports execution of capital projects by aligning project plans with operational needs and plant expectations.
  • Identifies, assesses, and escalates risks related to safety, quality, production, and timelines.
  • Supports timely issue resolution to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintains structured tracking of cross-functional actions and ensures accountability and follow-through.
  • Facilitates consistent communication across teams regarding project progress, impacts, and key decisions.
  • Supports commissioning and startup activities to ensure successful transition to steady-state operations.
  • Partners with plant teams to resolve issues and achieve targeted performance outcomes.
  • Drives coordination between capital project timelines and plant production schedules.
  • Coordinates execution sequencing to align with operational priorities and minimize downtime.
  • Maintains visibility of project dependencies and ensures cross-functional alignment.
  • Coordinates resources and activities to reduce operational disruption during project execution.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for project integration and execution outcomes.
  • Adheres to the Saputo code of ethics and actively applies Saputo values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, equipment installation, or commissioning activities.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, utilities, and production processes.
  • Understanding of capital project execution and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (GMP, OSHA).
  • Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical information into operational impact.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support shutdowns, startups, and project execution.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with frequent presence on the plant floor.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and access production and mechanical areas.
  • Exposure to typical plant conditions including noise, temperature variation, and moving equipment.
  • Flexibility to support non-standard hours during critical project phases (e.g., shutdowns, startups).

Position Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Good visual acuity with the ability to distinguish colors. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Fine manipulation and hand dexterity, including ability to grip and squeeze; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), to include bump cap, hearing, and eye protection. This also include additional PPE requirements as defined for the position activities.
  • Must be able to work overtime on a daily and/or weekly basis.
