Job Summary:
The Project Manager, Level II provides outstanding project management to our clients by planning and executing SSIT project management methodologies. Key to the role are excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills. Project Manager, Level II must be capable of multitasking and be able to easily adapt to changing circumstances. The role operates with a high level of interactive communication, demonstrating high levels of inclusion and cultural sensitivity. Partner with business, technical and administrative team members to deliver high quality project artifacts that meet established project management standards, and business solution needs is essential. The ability to listen to complex technical, business and project discussions; capture the actions and discussions in a clear, complete and well written manner is critical for success in the role. An innate sense of urgency and a natural aptitude for detail orientation are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Manager, Level II is responsible for the project plan, budget, structure, schedule and staffing requirements for assigned projects.
- A thorough understanding of agile SDLC methodologies and the project manager's role in it including prioritization, technical and project risk assessment, estimation, project timelines, value-based change control etc.
- Manage risks and notify the appropriate client and leadership teams regarding deviations from approved models/core solutions.
- Create and manage project artifacts in Smartsheet with detail and precision.
- Present complex data and solutions in a concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead weekly status meetings with full attendance and active engagement; distribute agendas in advance and follow up with documented meeting minutes.
- Produce and distribute weekly project dashboards to the correct stakeholder audience, ensuring all project data is groomed and accurate and that outputs pass quality assurance review before distribution.
- Identify, engage, and manage relationships with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the right individuals are assigned appropriate roles and kept informed at the right cadence. Maintain the stakeholder register as a supporting tool to track roles and engagement, reviewing it regularly to keep it current.
- Allocate resources and support workforce planning across the project team, fostering strong team engagement.
- Monitor and control project scope, identifying and escalating scope changes before they impact schedule or budget.
- Develop and adhere to a project communication plan; maintain a high standard of written professionalism and email quality across all stakeholder and mass communications.
- Ability to plan and manage their own and other team members' activities to meet deliverables and deadlines.
- Be an effective communicator with business and technical audiences, able to present complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, ability to process large amounts of information and/or data and distill them into relevant messages.
- The responsibilities include:
- overall coordination leading to the successful completion of approved projects
- tracking project specific timelines, budgets, and risks
- monitoring progress against the approved schedule, proactively communicating schedule changes to stakeholders, and driving on-time milestone completion
- maintaining detailed project plans in Smartsheet
- accurate budget forecasting and actual cost tracking
- maintaining the CRAID log (Constraints, Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Decisions) and ensuring timely follow-up on open items
- scheduling and facilitation of team/subteam/steering committee meetings
- acting on client's behalf when dealing with third party vendors
- complying with all IT PMO policies and procedures for project planning, execution and closeout
Qualifications:
- Degree in business or computer sciences or a related field required.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience delivering IT solutions.
- Strong Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, PPT, Visio).
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and coherent manner both verbally and written.
- Proven experience of working with complex integrated systems, using creative and strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results.
- Strong ability to listen to discussion and capture requirements in meaningful, precise manner that can be understood by both technical and non-technical participants.
- Ability to present concepts and lead discussions on design issues with authority and poise, engaging effectively with internal business stakeholders.
- Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail both in written and action tasks.
- Strong ability to work independently and adhere to timelines.
- Experience of virtual collaboration to lead, shape and develop innovative solutions.
- Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers/vendors.
- Experience managing client relationships and negotiating positive outcomes.
