Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects for an established electrical contractor in the Cromwell area. This hands-on leadership role will manage projects from preconstruction and award through final closeout, with responsibility for schedule, budget, procurement, field coordination, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management experience within commercial or industrial electrical construction and a proven track record managing projects for an electrical contractor or subcontractor. The company works across a diverse range of electrical projects, including design-build, low-voltage systems, fire alarm, service work, and solar installations.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from award through final completion
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and execution strategies
Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain project progress
Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other stakeholders
Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
Monitor project costs, forecasts, labor, procurement, and overall profitability
Identify and resolve schedule, budget, procurement, and field coordination issues
Lead project meetings and communicate project status, milestones, financial performance, and potential risks
Coordinate material procurement, equipment deliveries, subcontractor activities, and long-lead items
Support field teams through inspections, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final turnover
Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and company quality standards
Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities to support repeat business
Requirements
5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices
Valid Connecticut Electrical License required
Proven ability to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout with financial responsibility
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, change orders, and cost control
Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
Candidates available to start within the next month are strongly preferred

$100,000–$110,000 base salary, depending on experience
