Project Manager - Construction - New London
Our client is a well-established General Contractor specializing in ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, and residential developments throughout Connecticut. As a Project Manager - Construction - New London, you will be responsible for:
- Managing ground-up multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and forecasts
- Coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and ownership teams
- Managing procurement, contract administration, and subcontractor buyouts
- Reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Monitoring project costs and maintaining financial controls
- Leading project meetings and providing regular project updates
- Collaborating closely with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution
- Managing project documentation, reporting, and project controls
- Identifying project risks and implementing proactive solutions
- Coordinating inspections, approvals, and turnover activities
- Ensuring all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations
- Supporting successful project closeout and owner handoff
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within construction
- Extensive experience managing ground-up multifamily construction projects
- Experience with garden-style, podium, wrap, mixed-use, or luxury multifamily developments preferred
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control experience
- Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and project teams
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project execution
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
