Project Manager – Industrial Construction & Capital Projects

Responsibilities

• Direct capital construction, expansion, and renovation projects from initial planning through closeout.
• Build project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate work among internal departments, contractors, design professionals, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
• Supervise field activity to confirm adherence to safety, quality, and site requirements.
• Chair project meetings and deliver progress reports to leadership and project sponsors.
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, RFIs, change orders, and contractor bids.
• Track spend against budget and own cost performance.
• Keep projects on schedule while limiting impact to active production.
• Oversee equipment installations, utility upgrades, and process-related construction.
• Support commissioning, startup, validation, and turnover.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and other applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management in construction, industrial manufacturing, facility engineering, or capital programs.
• Working knowledge of commercial and industrial construction methods.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong budgeting and scheduling skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.

Preferred

• Background in a regulated production environment (consumer goods, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences).
• Experience with facility expansions, process installations, packaging lines, utilities, or clean rooms.
• PMP certification or comparable training.
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Skilled-trades background (electrician, millwright, pipefitter, carpenter, HVAC, maintenance) with progression into supervision or project management.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
