Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person
responsible for).
Manages capital improvement projects for Xcel Energy's gas system, specifically non-pipeline assets such as
regulator stations, odorization facilities, compressor stations, and other fixed assets. Responsible for
overseeing full project life cycle from concept to close-out: funding requests, engineering coordination,
stakeholder engagement, procurement (quotes, POs, vendors), execution, and finalization. Projects include
replacements, relocations, and upgrades

What does a typical day look like?
Managing project deliverables based on project phase. Regular coordination with internal teams
(engineering, operations, SMEs, procurement) and external stakeholders (vendors, cities, municipalities). No
daily task assignment; PMs follow the project lifecycle and manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholder
communication

Ideal candidate background and how many years required?
Ideal: 5–7 years as a Project Manager (PM), preferably with gas utility experience. Combination of 2–3 years
gas experience plus PM background is acceptable

Are there any preferred or "nice to have" skills?
Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum). PMP certification. Prior experience in
gas utilities, pipeline facilities, or refineries
