About the Job: Our client is a growing and respected consulting firm based in the Buffalo, NY region, specializing in delivering high-quality due diligence and consulting services throughout the country. This position’s primary purpose is to act as a Project Manager and Environmental Analyst/Technical Writer within the Environmental Due Diligence Department. This role works in conjunction with the VP of the Department and the Corporation. The workload and distribution of work are to be decided by the VP of the Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Following identification of a subcontracted project, the individual will coordinate the contracting of the subcontractor, including confirming pricing with the SVP. Once engaged, the individual will continue to follow the project through completion.
• Communicate with subcontractors throughout projects on potential timing or access issues, RECs, etc.
• Complete supplemental research or tasks needed to complete subcontracted projects (file and track FOIAs, research environmental and historical information, etc.) in accordance with the SOPs.
• Ensure the timely delivery of subcontractor deliverables, meet internal paperwork requirements, and relay potential recommendations for further investigation to the required stakeholders prior to the product's due date.
• Perform QA/QC of subcontractor deliverables and communicate with the subcontractor to obtain additional information, clarification, etc. as necessary.
• Communicate with the associated Account Manager regarding any concerns associated with the sites, including collateral discrepancies, as soon as they are identified, and continue to follow up if new concerns are identified as the research process is completed.
• Complete all related paperwork on time; continue to obtain required documentation and complete any outstanding paperwork.
• Write the EDD report.
• Ensure timeliness and quality of reports and adherence to client SOWs.
• Provide critical feedback relative to required content/edits of paperwork, reviews, and summaries to Inspectors and/or the EDD VP.
• Assist in monitoring performance and correcting any staff performance deficiencies with VP of Environmental Due Diligence Services.
• Assist VP of Field Operations with the identification of quality or process issues relative to Analysts and/or field inspectors
• Ensure timeliness and quality of all service products and adherence to standards, client SOWs, and industry standards.
• Prepare the first draft of Environmental Due Diligence reports in accordance with existing Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct senior/technical review (QA/QC) of prepared environmental reports and environmental reports prepared by other consultants.
• Complete reviews of environmental reports prepared by other consultants.
• Review documents received relative to active and past projects.
• Follow up on any documents needed and concerns that need to be resolved until the project is complete.
• Communicate and interact with the VP of Environmental Due Diligence Services regarding issues of concern.
• Communicate and interact with other Project Managers and Account Managers regarding collateral discrepancies, recommendations, verbal conclusions, problem sites, and late reports. Follow up on new concerns identified during the research process.
• Participate in department continuing education and regular calibration calls.
• Respond to clients and coworkers promptly (within 2 hours per company policy) with emphasis on responsiveness to senior staff.
• Stay updated with ASTM standards, RECs, and the ability to analyze regulatory, analytical, historical, and site-specific information.
• When needed and as assigned: complete various projects including scheduling and completion of all aspects of Phase I, Transaction Screen and EA Quick Plus Environmental Assessments, Phase II services and potentially, Construction services including draws and property condition assessment inspections. Site inspections will include walking and exterior inspections in all types of environments and weather and may require light lifting and the use of tools and a ladder.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in the environmental or related science field.
• Environmental Professional as defined by ASTM (current standard).
• Valid clean driver's license

Compensation: Competitive salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (based on experience)

Worksite: Remote with occasional travel, East Coast candidates are preferred.

The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, and fumes or airborne particles. Travel requirement: This position may require periodic travel with some travel out of the area requiring overnight stay.
