Job Summary:
This role is be working on GHS transformation initiatives/Board level initiatives. Main focus is to optimize host data in and out of cloud/data centers.
Will be looking at global data centers of all segments and looking to optimize for cost and footprint savings.
Company's data center footprint: Vacating legacy facilities, relocating or retiring the infrastructure inside them, and moving applications to supported, modernized on-prem, edge, and public cloud platforms. You will sit in Technology Operations and partner with the GHS program lead, infrastructure and network engineers, SRE, security, application and product owners, and external vendors to turn site-level plans into predictable, well-governed delivery against committed vacate dates and savings targets. This is an on-site role in Burbank or Orlando: you will work shoulder to shoulder with data center and application teams while coordinating with remote teams at the program's other sites. The role calls for a servant-leader mindset, enough technical depth to earn credibility with engineers and architects, and the ability to keep dozens of interdependent workstreams moving without owning the people who do the work.
Program scope: Multi-site data center consolidation, migration, and decommission; wave-based physical relocation of network, compute, and storage hardware; virtual-to-virtual (vMotion) migrations, virtual-to-physical moves, and new builds on modernized platforms including public cloud and cloud-extended on-prem (e.g., AWS Outpost); server and VM decommission through ITSM request workflows; core network gateway, carrier circuit, load balancer, DNS, firewall, and VLAN changes; end-of-life virtualization, hardware, and fabric retirement; database platform upgrades; and application disposition across hundreds of product owners with rollback, exception, and extension management.
Responsibilities:
" Deliver data center programs end to end: own plans, milestones, dependencies, and cutover readiness for migration, relocation, and decommission workstreams at our data centers, driving each wave from scheduling through validation, hypercare, and closure against vacate dates.
" Run the on-site execution cadence: lead daily and weekly stand-ups and migration bridge calls, track progress by wave and application (completed vs. remaining vMotions, new builds, decommissions), and keep the critical path visible to engineers, application owners, and leadership.
" Drive application and product-owner engagement: secure disposition decisions (migrate, rebuild, retire, or stay), schedule cutovers, track new-build readiness, and manage exception-to-stay and extension requests with documented rationale, rollback plans, and decision owners.
" Coordinate change and cutover execution: prepare change-advisory submissions, change windows, methods of procedure, validation testing, and rollback plans; track decommission requests (RITMs) through power-off and physical removal; coordinate across network, storage, security, SRE, and vendor teams, including physical and network decommission hand-offs between sites.
" Manage dependencies, risk, and trade-offs: maintain the action-item log and risk register with clear owners and dates; surface blockers early (hardware delivery, firewall and VLAN readiness, SRE capacity, fiscal freeze windows); build contingency plans; and escalate decisions to leadership with options and impact analysis.
" Support program governance: help define and operate repeatable processes for exceptions, delays, and risk acceptance, and for cloud-intentional migration requests, so extensions are decided consistently rather than ad hoc.
" Track value and savings: tie each initiative to the lever it pulls (end-of-life hardware and virtualization retirement, third-party maintenance, colocation and circuit costs, licensing) and maintain the data needed to validate total-cost-of-ownership and savings reporting alongside Finance and discovery partners.
" Manage vendors and delivery partners: coordinate integrators, hardware and software vendors, carriers, and consulting partners on schedules, deliverables, and hand-offs, and hold them to commitments (no budget ownership).
" Communicate with clarity: produce weekly program updates, executive dashboards, burn-down views, and RAG status built on week-over-week indicators; present site readouts and recovery plans to senior leadership.
" Apply AI to program work: use AI to accelerate status reporting, meeting synthesis, risk and action tracking, and planning; contribute reusable prompts and workflows; and validate AI output with human judgment.
" Plan forward and improve continuously: capture lessons learned from each wave and site, evolve playbooks and templates, and support planning for future consolidation opportunities as discovery outputs land.
This role does not carry people management, budget or financial ownership, or assignment of engineering resources; those remain with Engineering Managers, application owners, and leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
" 5 7+ years of experience in technical project or program management, utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies, with a track record of delivering large-scale, cross-functional infrastructure initiatives.
" Hands-on experience leading data center migration, consolidation, relocation, or decommission programs, including wave-based execution, application dependency mapping, and cutover and rollback planning.
" Working technical fluency across several of: virtualization (VMware), compute and storage, networking (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, carrier circuits), public/private cloud (AWS preferred), databases, and infrastructure security.
" Experience with formal change management and ITSM processes (CAB, ServiceNow or equivalent request and change workflows).
" Collaboration: Microsoft Teams.
" Atlassian Suite: proficiency with Jira (planning, boards, dashboards) and Confluence.
" ITSM and Reporting: ServiceNow (change, requests, CMDB); Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI for tracking and executive
reporting;
" AI Integration: Claude for AI-assisted analysis, status reporting, and workflow automation
