Job Description:

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Project Manager III to lead the successful delivery of complex customer projects from kickoff through completion. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers after the sales handoff, ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with customer expectations.

As a trusted partner to both customers and internal teams, you will drive project planning, execution, communication, risk management, and commercial performance while coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive project leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex challenges, and can effectively influence teams without direct authority.

Why This Role Matters

Project Management serves as the bridge between customer commitments and operational execution. Your leadership will help deliver exceptional customer experiences, improve business performance, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and ensure predictable project outcomes.

What you will do

Lead Customer Projects

  • Serve as the primary customer contact from project kickoff through final delivery and closeout.
  • Establish project goals, key milestones, communication plans, and escalation paths.
  • Lead customer meetings, status reviews, milestone discussions, and project closeouts.
  • Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and dependable execution.
  • Ensure customer expectations are clearly understood and successfully delivered.

Drive Project Execution

  • Translate customer requirements, contracts, purchase orders, and statements of work into actionable project plans.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across Sales, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Customer Service teams.
  • Monitor project performance and implement recovery plans when risks to delivery arise.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Manage Commercial Performance

  • Partner with Sales and Finance to maintain visibility into project financials, forecasts, billing milestones, and customer commitments.
  • Lead change management processes related to scope, schedule, design, quantity, or customer-requested modifications.
  • Evaluate and communicate the operational and financial impact of project changes.
  • Escalate commercial risks and recommend solutions to leadership when necessary.

Mitigate Risks and Resolve Issues

  • Maintain clear visibility of project risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • Proactively identify potential obstacles and drive timely resolution.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to solve complex cross-functional challenges.
  • Escalate critical issues appropriately to protect project objectives and customer commitments.

Deliver Project Visibility and Governance

  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable project updates to customers, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Maintain project schedules, documentation, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint to support collaboration and reporting.
  • Support project reviews, audits, governance requirements, and portfolio reporting activities.

Improve Processes and Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution, standardize processes, and increase efficiency.
  • Capture lessons learned and implement best practices across future projects.
  • Leverage data, automation, dashboards, and AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Help scale project management practices that support business growth and customer success.

What your background should look like

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, customer delivery, professional services, operations, or a related environment.
  • Proven experience leading customer-facing projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Understanding of project financials, change management, forecasting, and commercial project controls.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who can work independently while driving accountability across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CAPM, PgMP, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with project and portfolio management software platforms.
  • Background supporting energy infrastructure, solar, data center, electrical, industrial, or large commercial projects.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, portfolio reporting, and automated workflows.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, analytics tools, APIs, or AI-enabled technologies.
  • Experience managing contracts, customer purchase orders, change orders, invoicing, accounts receivable, and project cash-flow processes.

What Makes You Successful

  • Customer-first mindset with exceptional relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to bring structure and clarity to complex projects.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Skilled at driving accountability, alignment, and results across diverse teams.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This role is ideal for a project management professional who enjoys partnering with customers, leading cross-functional teams, and driving successful project outcomes that create long-term value for both customers and the business.
