Job Description
A large commercial general contractor is seeking a Public Works Project Manager to join its Operations team in Las Vegas. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, and completion of assigned public works and education-related construction projects while ensuring quality, schedule, budget, and client expectations are met.
Responsibilities
Manage, plan, and direct all project-related activities while providing leadership and support to the project team.
Develop and maintain CPM schedules and ensure project goals are completed according to design documents, contract requirements, and construction timelines.
Manage project budgets, including any self-performed work.
Review and de-scope subcontractors and prepare thorough subcontract agreements.
Communicate regularly with subcontractors to ensure timely performance and project progress.
Oversee the development and submission of owner billings.
Ensure timely and accurate submission and execution of owner change orders and schedule updates.
Apply knowledge of commonly used construction field concepts, practices, procedures, and self-perform operations.
Negotiate and communicate with owners, public agencies, and project stakeholders.
Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Manage quality assurance procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in project procurement efforts, including business development, marketing, preconstruction, and estimating support.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a project management role with a commercial general contractor.
Prior experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager on school district, university, municipal, or similar public agency projects.
Experience with Procore, Timberline/Sage, Microsoft Office, and P6 scheduling or similar software preferred.
Desired project experience includes office, education, retail, federal/municipal, hospitality/casino, sports/recreation, parking structures, tenant improvements, and renovations.
Strong understanding of public works construction processes, project documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination.
Team-oriented, dependable, organized, and self-motivated.
Able to support critical deadlines and assist the project team as needed.
Dedicated to quality work, strong communication, and professional accountability.
May be required to work onsite at an active construction project, including job trailer settings and typical construction site conditions.
