Today
Sargent Electric is a leading specialty contractor focused on electrical, instrumentation, wireless, utility, and low voltage systems. Founded in Pittsburgh in 1907, we operate from 8 locations across the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, delivering projects nationwide for our strategic customers.

We support the breadth of client needs — from routine 24/7 service and emergency restoration to their largest and most complex projects. Our proven safety record, technical depth, and longstanding client relationships have made us a partner of choice for Fortune 500 companies, leading general contractors, and EPC contractors.

We are seeking a driven and experienced Project Manager to support our Renewables Division, reporting to our Pittsburgh, PA office. In this role, you will lead the full lifecycle of complex projects—ensuring safety, quality, financial performance, and client satisfaction—while working closely with field teams, leadership, and customers.  This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-impact projects in a growing segment of the business while helping drive operational excellence and long-term success.

Candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time to support project execution and client requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead all phases of project execution, including safety, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination
  • Champion a best-in-class safety culture, partnering with field and safety teams to reduce risk and improve performance
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and financial outcomes to ensure predictable, profitable delivery
  • Oversee construction execution, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, and stakeholders, maintaining strong, professional relationships
  • Direct and develop project teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, and project risks, implementing strategies to protect company interests
  • Monitor costs, invoices, A/P and A/R, and support forecasting and reporting activities
  • Coordinate procurement, subcontractors, and equipment resources to support efficient project delivery
  • Lead project closeout, including documentation, financial reconciliation, and contract compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of project documentation and reporting requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including refining processes and operational best practices
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including bidding and proposal support
  • Mentor team members and support employee development and engagement initiatives
  • Drive quality control and quality assurance across all phases of project execution

What You’ll Bring

Required:
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience within the electrical construction industry, delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Experience in renewables or power generation projects
  • Strong understanding of project management, financial controls, and construction operations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred:
  • Experience with construction/project management systems such as Accubid Anywhere, Vista, Bluebeam, Procore, Plangrid, Navisworks, or similar tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Why Join Sargent Electric
