We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong self-perform construction background to join a growing team specializing in interior systems and commercial construction projects.

This is not a coordinator-style PM role. We are looking for a hands-on builder who understands production, labor tracking, crew management, and field operations within self-perform environments. The ideal candidate has direct experience managing drywall, metal stud framing, interior systems, exterior finishes, or related scopes with internal crews.

Responsibilities

  • Manage self-perform construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee field operations, production schedules, manpower planning, and labor tracking
  • Coordinate directly with superintendents, foremen, vendors, and clients
  • Build and manage project budgets based on labor hours, install rates, and production metrics
  • Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays or field issues
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Support project closeout, punch lists, and final turnover documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience within self-perform construction environments
  • Background with drywall, metal stud framing, commercial interiors, exterior finishes, painting, or related scopes strongly preferred
  • Experience managing internal field crews rather than strictly subcontractor coordination
  • Strong understanding of production rates, labor tracking, sequencing, and field operations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Background

  • Former Foreman or Superintendent who transitioned into Project Management
  • Experience working for specialty subcontractors rather than GC-only environments
  • Experience in retail, hospital, tenant improvement, or large commercial interior projects
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks RST or Plexus software is a plus

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Bonus opportunities
  • Health benefits
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Long-term career growth with a fast-moving and team-oriented organization
