Stanford University's Office of Development (OOD) is seeking a Project Manager for the central Dean of Research development team. OOD advances Stanford's mission by raising philanthropic support from alumni, parents, families, friends, and institutional funders. Working in concert with volunteers and academic leaders, OOD staff members strive to accelerate Stanford's purposeful impact in the world. Every member of the Office of Development staff plays a role in providing the university's donors with the service and attention that ensures an exceptionally positive and fulfilling philanthropic experience. The central Dean of Research team supports and interacts regularly with the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research and provides development staffing for Stanford's independent research institutes and centers.

Position Summary:

The Project Manager is a key operational partner to the central Dean of Research development team, providing the project management, data infrastructure, and event coordination support that enables effective fundraising across a diverse portfolio of Stanford''s independent research institutes and centers. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, this role works at the intersection of data infrastructure, project coordination, and fundraising strategy, helping the team stay organized, responsive, and forward-moving.

In this role you will:

• Retrieve information about prospects and donors, update records, and generate reports using the university external relations database.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports that monitor donor engagement, gift pipelines, and progress toward fundraising goals; retrieve and manage data in the university external relations database and generate complex reports for the team.
• Process gifts and pledges in concert with the university's gift processing unit; troubleshoot gift and payment issues, ensuring accurate donor record keeping.
• Assist in planning and implementing donor-facing events and convenings, including advisory council meetings and other high-profile gatherings across multiple institutes and centers.
• Partner with gift officers, faculty, and event planning staff in the planning, coordination, and on-site execution of donor cultivation and stewardship events.
• Draft and help prepare materials including proposals, donor visit briefings for senior university leaders and faculty, gift acknowledgements, and stewardship and fundraising communications.
• Support the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of systems and workflows that enable effective fundraising across all units in the DoR portfolio.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan and execute complex, multi-stakeholder events and initiatives from start to finish.
• Strong data analysis skills, including experience gathering, organizing, and analyzing data, and communicating results and recommendations to key stakeholders in a clear and succinct fashion.
• Proficiency with database systems such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar CRM platforms; advanced ability with the Microsoft Office suite.
• The ability to work efficiently, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve goals with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituents including donors, faculty, and senior university leaders.

The expected pay range for this position is $89,825 to $101,335 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

• Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, sit, and use a telephone, stand/walk.
