Project Manager—PMP Certification Required
Pay: $80.08–$83.22 per hour
Location: Hybrid—Tallahassee, Florida, with required onsite attendance at APD headquarters
Duration: Anticipated one-year initial engagement, subject to final contract dates
Status: Contingent on contract award and Agency approval. Start date and weekly hours will be confirmed following award.
Position overview
Coordinate delivery of SMX's five planning and procurement deliverables for APD. Work with the Engagement Lead to manage approved task lists, schedules, dependencies, reviews, and reporting.
The role supports the contracted planning engagement. It does not operate APD's future modernization PMO or manage system implementation.
Responsibilities
- Support preparation and approval of the five Deliverable Expectation Documents, including task lists, acceptance criteria, dependencies, reviewers, due dates, and quality checklists.
- Maintain the approved engagement schedule and coordinate architecture/design, requirements, roadmap, risk, and procurement-package activities.
- Organize the onsite kickoff within 10 business days of contract execution and weekly project-status meetings.
- Track deliverable status, planned and actual dates, planned and actual cost information, issues, and risks needed for Agency legislative reporting.
- Coordinate stakeholder availability, workshops, decisions, action items, Agency reviews, revisions, and stage-gate readiness.
- Maintain decision, assumption, issue, and work-product records supporting traceability and acceptance.
- Track scope and task changes and obtain written approvals before changed work begins.
- Coordinate quality checks, submission readiness, correction and resubmission cycles, and final closeout.
- Organize editable source files and supporting evidence for transition to APD and future authorized providers.
Required qualifications
- Current PMI Project Management Professional certification, with details sufficient for verification.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating enterprise technology planning or comparable consulting engagements with multiple deliverables, dependencies, and stakeholder reviews.
- Ability to maintain schedules, task lists, issue and decision records, risk tracking, and clear status reports.
- Working knowledge of architecture, business analysis, technical requirements, implementation planning, and acquisition-support workflows.
- Strong stakeholder facilitation, analytical, organizational, and technical-writing skills.
- Verifiable references and a resume documenting applicable education and experience.
- Ability to meet Tallahassee onsite requirements and complete required screening.
Preferred qualifications—SMX recruiting preferences
- Florida state-agency delivery experience.
- Familiarity with Chapter 60GG requirements and public procurement.
- Experience coordinating DED-controlled deliverables, fixed-price acceptance, and legislative reporting.
- Knowledge of CDMS, EVV, Medicaid services, or health-information privacy.
Work conditions and security
Combine remote work with required onsite attendance in Tallahassee. The onsite schedule is established during onboarding and may change for critical meetings, presentations, or risk-mitigation sessions.
Use an Agency-approved VPN with multifactor authentication and maintain a secure remote workspace. Complete vendor-funded Level 2-equivalent screening, including fingerprinting, before beginning work. Follow APD confidentiality policies, applicable HIPAA requirements, and restrictions on portable storage.
