    Job Description

Project Manager - Website Modernization Initiative

Location: Jackson, MS | Hybrid (Remote with 10-12 onsite days/month) | Contract

    About the Role

Join a high-impact digital transformation as the primary Project Manager for a major website modernization initiative within a prominent government agency. Lead the complete redevelopment and launch of a Drupal-based public sector website in direct partnership with Tyler Technologies and internal teams. This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility of remote work plus scheduled onsite collaboration in Jackson, MS. Drive innovation, accessibility, and operational excellence while building a modern digital presence that serves millions.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct all phases of website redesign, working as the hands-on execution lead with vendors and internal stakeholders.
    • Oversee content strategy, information architecture, and editorial direction to ensure a cohesive, user-focused site.
    • Manage large-scale content migration: audit assets, coordinate with owners, and streamline workflows for a seamless transition.
    • Lead ADA Title II and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance efforts, collaborating with legal and compliance teams for accessibility.
    • Execute rigorous quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and readiness activities pre- and post-launch.
    • Develop and implement sustainable web governance frameworks, SOPs, and change management systems for ongoing site maintenance.
    • Facilitate stakeholder engagement through working sessions, content reviews, and cross-departmental coordination.
    • Provide regular written status updates, maintain documentation, and proactively identify project risks and blockers.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • 5-10 years' experience leading large-scale (100+ pages, multi-stakeholder) website redesigns or redevelopment, ideally in the public sector.
    • Proven track record overseeing full web project lifecycles: planning, execution, migration, and launch.
    • Strong hands-on experience with website content migration, governance, and digital change management.
    • Deep knowledge of ADA Title II and WCAG standards for web accessibility.
    • Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and written communication abilities.
    • Demonstrated success working with external technology vendors and managing complex project environments.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience supporting Medicaid agencies, state health departments, or human services programs.
    • Familiarity with Smartsheet forms or automation, and Tyler Technologies web platforms.
    • Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, CBAP, or accessibility credentials (CPACC, WAS).
    • Experience navigating complex government organizations and coordinating cross-departmental teams.
    • Self-starter mindset with a strong drive for results and accountability.

    Benefits

    • Be a key driver in a transformative government technology initiative with lasting public impact.
    • Hybrid remote work model with flexible scheduling and limited onsite requirements.
    • Opportunity to shape digital best practices and long-term web governance for a major agency.
    • Collaborate with leading technology partners and cross-functional teams.
    • Gain unique experience in public-sector digital modernization.
