Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial and institutional construction projects. This individual will be responsible for managing projects from planning through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate has a strong general contracting background, extensive experience managing government construction projects, and the ability to independently oversee project teams, subcontractors, schedules, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects from initial planning through final closeout.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality expectations are met.
- Lead and coordinate Superintendents, Quality Control Managers, project engineers, and subcontractors.
- Manage project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, progress payments, billing, and financial reporting.
- Negotiate, prepare, and administer subcontractor agreements and change orders.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor construction schedules.
- Oversee project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and contract correspondence.
- Conduct project progress meetings and communicate updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve project challenges related to scheduling, costs, subcontractor performance, and execution.
- Ensure all required project documentation and closeout activities are completed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction management experience.
- Prior experience serving as a Project Manager on federal government construction contracts is required.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of construction budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and contract administration.
- Experience managing multiple construction projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage project operations and financial performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience working for a general contractor.
- Experience managing project teams that include Superintendents, Quality Control Managers, and field personnel.
- Strong background in construction project financial controls and government contract documentation.
