Lead Great Renovations With Clarity and Confidence

Cardiff Custom Construction specializes in custom home renovations, including kitchens, bathrooms, and additions across the Greater Richmond area. Founded by Chase Loomer, Cardiff is built around clear communication, strong systems, and delivering an exceptional homeowner experience from first conversation through final walkthrough. The company is growing, taking on larger projects, and looking for people who want to help raise the standard.

Cardiff Custom Construction is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead the field construction of residential renovation and addition projects. This role is responsible for keeping jobs on schedule, within budget, and aligned with Cardiff's quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site conditions, communicate with clients and the internal team, and keep projects moving forward with confidence and professionalism.

This is an ideal opportunity for a residential construction leader who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable making decisions in the field. Cardiff is looking for someone who can step in with solid experience, strong communication, and the ability to bring solutions, not just problems. The right person will be organized, client-facing, and committed to delivering an excellent experience for homeowners throughout the build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the field construction of residential renovation and addition projects
  • Build, update, and maintain project schedules
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and material deliveries across multiple jobsites
  • Use web-based project management software to manage daily tasks, updates, and documentation
  • Review trade sketches, scopes, and project drawings prior to permitting and execution
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and client expectations
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized jobsites each day
  • Set up and remove dust and floor protection systems as needed
  • Communicate regularly with homeowners and serve as a strong on-site representative of the company
  • Provide weekly job updates to the Project Manager and internal team
  • Schedule and conduct walkthroughs with owners and management
  • Manage change orders and change order requests with the owner and Production Coordinator
  • Track and complete punch list items in a timely manner
  • Attend weekly in-office production meetings
  • Compile closeout packages, including deliverables and product manuals
  • Help manage warranty claims throughout the one-year warranty period
  • Identify problems early and bring practical solutions that keep projects moving

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of residential construction project management or superintendent experience preferred
  • Strong experience in residential remodeling or custom home building required
  • Proficiency with residential construction management software such as Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, field coordination, and residential construction sequencing
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Close attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Self-starter with sound judgment and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background-related screening consistent with company requirements
  • Comfortable working across job sites throughout the Greater Richmond area

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 employee
  • Pay: $60,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience, plus eligibility for company-wide bonus
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Company truck after 3 months
  • Cell phone allowance up to $75 per month after 3 months
  • Health insurance contribution of 50% of employee-only coverage, up to $300 per month, after 3 months
  • Direct deposit available
