Property Accountant
Location: Cherry Creek, Denver, CO

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000
Position Summary
An established real estate investment and property management organization is seeking a Property Accountant to support a portfolio ofcommercial and/or multifamily properties. This role will be responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and property-level financial analysis.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with multiple properties, entities, or real estate assets.
Key Responsibilities Property Accounting & Reporting

  • Perform monthly close activities for an assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and analyze property operating results.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
  • Assist with annual budgets and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor property performance and investigate variances.
  • Support cash flow analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports for management.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Review accounts payable activity and vendor payments.
  • Monitor tenant receivables and support collections reporting.
  • Assist with CAM reconciliations and operating expense recoveries, as applicable.
Audit & Compliance
  • Assist with annual audits and tax preparation.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
  • Assist with system implementations and workflow improvements.
  • Support special projects and portfolio growth initiatives.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting.
Preferred
  • Property accounting, commercial real estate, multifamily, or real estate investment experience.
  • Experience with Yardi, MRI, Entrata, RealPage, or similar property management software.
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple entities or property portfolios.
