About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior General Manager to oversee operations for a premier luxury residential community in Queens, NY.

This is a highly visible leadership role for a property management professional with strong experience in luxury residential operations, board relations, financial management, capital planning, resident services, team leadership, and vendor oversight.

The Senior General Manager will serve as the senior operational leader for the property, working closely with the Board of Directors and onsite leadership team to ensure exceptional service, strong financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term asset preservation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily operations for a luxury residential condominium community
  • Oversee engineering, maintenance, security, resident services, vendor management, and onsite operational functions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Condominium Board of Directors
  • Prepare and present operational updates, financial reports, capital project updates, and strategic recommendations during board meetings
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary onsite team while promoting accountability, professionalism, and service excellence
  • Support hiring, retention, performance management, employee development, and succession planning
  • Manage operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, variance reporting, reserve planning, and expense control
  • Oversee capital improvement projects, renovations, construction work, and long-term property planning
  • Maintain strong preventative maintenance programs to protect the property's physical assets
  • Build strong relationships with residents, board members, vendors, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Resolve complex resident concerns with professionalism, discretion, and a hospitality-focused approach
  • Negotiate and manage vendor agreements while monitoring quality, compliance, insurance requirements, and contract performance
  • Ensure compliance with governing documents, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain emergency preparedness, life safety, risk management, and operational response procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, resident satisfaction, and financial performance
  • Use reporting, metrics, and performance insights to guide decisions and support continuous improvement
  • Lead special projects related to innovation, sustainability, service enhancements, and property operations

What We're Looking For

  • Senior-level property management experience within luxury residential, condominium, cooperative, multifamily, hospitality, or similar high-service environments
  • Strong experience supporting and partnering with a Board of Directors
  • Proven leadership experience managing onsite teams across multiple operational functions
  • Strong financial management experience, including operating budgets, capital budgets, variance reporting, forecasting, and reserve planning
  • Experience overseeing capital projects, construction, renovations, maintenance programs, and vendor performance
  • Strong understanding of resident services, hospitality standards, and luxury property expectations
  • Ability to manage complex resident issues with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, especially with board members, residents, vendors, and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to balance resident satisfaction, financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and asset preservation
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of applicable property operations, safety, compliance, and risk management requirements
  • Professional presence, high accountability, and a service-oriented leadership style

Preferred Background

  • Experience managing luxury condominium or cooperative communities strongly preferred
  • Experience working in the New York metropolitan residential property market preferred
  • Experience with premium amenities, high-touch resident services, and complex building operations
  • Experience leading large onsite teams and managing significant operating and capital budgets
  • Familiarity with board reporting, governing documents, vendor negotiations, and long-term capital planning

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation up to $185,000, based on experience
