Job Summary

This position is at Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management within a multidisciplinary team.Job Responsibilities* Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and risk assessments, for individuals with behavioral health disorders and intellectual/developmental disabilities.* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and behavioral interventions.* Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy, side effects, and adherence.* Provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up care, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on patient progress and clinical outcomes.* Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and direct care staff, to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.* Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and clinical rounds to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.* Document all clinical encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to established standards and regulations.* Provide consultation and education to staff, patients, and families regarding psychiatric conditions and treatment options.* Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and departmental regulations and policies regarding patient care, confidentiality, and professional conduct.* Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with advancements in psychiatry, particularly in the areas of behavioral health and developmental disabilities.Job Qualifications* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.* Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.* Board Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or eligibility for board certification.* Current and unrestricted medical license to practice in [State, if applicable, otherwise state "the relevant jurisdiction"].* Valid DEA registration.* Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or severe and persistent mental illness.* Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.* Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.* Commitment to providing person-centered, recovery-oriented care.
