This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This is professional psychiatric work providing direct patient care involving provision of evaluation, diagnosis and treatmentservicestoanassignedpatientcaseloadwithinthefacilitiesandprogramsofstateorlocalagencies.
Employeesserveinavarietyofprofessionalmedicalrolesincludinggeneralpsychiatry,childandadolescence psychiatry,addictionpsychiatry,geriatricsandforensicspsychiatry.Employeesmayserveoninterdisciplinarytreatment teams and committees and act as a consultant to other medical/clinical staff or as a liaison to agencies concerned with thewelfareofthepatientpopulation.Workmayincludetheguidanceandsupervisionofpsychiatricresidentsand fellows. While work is performed with independent professional responsibility, employees are generally accountable to the director of mental health.
