The Psychologist position is part of the City Center Clinic. As part of the team, this position identifies, triages, and manages the patient population with medical and behavioral health problems, providing direct clinical services. This position also requires supervision of other behavioral staff, including licensed clinical social workers and interns/externs.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Provides initial and on-going consultation and support to medical providers and clinic staff regarding behavioral health services.
Integrates behavioral health best practice into program design and delivery.
Provides training and orientation to primary care providers on behavioral health.
Conducts clinical assessments of mental and behavioral health conditions and makes treatment recommendations.
Provides direct clinical therapy services to patients.
Provides crisis support services as needed.
Provides behavioral health consultation/integration services to patients as needed, including warm hand offs and brief interventions.
Provides psychological assessments/testing services to patients.
Maintains timely, accurate, and appropriate records.
Participates in quality improvement activities.
Implements Patient Centered Medical Home practices.
Complies with Health West Inc. policies and procedures.
Coding and Charting
Documents patient visits (same day) meeting current coding standards.
Signs off lab work, chart documentation, phone calls, patient cases, refills, hospital visits (if applicable), and other paperwork as required using timetables and guidelines as outlined in Procedure CL-048: Chart Completion Procedure.
Selects appropriate CPT and diagnosis codes and assures these codes are supported by proper documentation.
Participates in appropriate coding and documentation education as needed or as directed by Health West.
Participates in chart audits as directed.
Assures charts are documented and signed off within three business days.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Psychologist, PhD or PsyD,
Three or more years of relevant experience in clinical psychology.
Experience in testing and treating psychological conditions across the lifespan.
Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
Ability to work effectively as a team, interfacing with patients, their support systems, primary care providers, consulting psychiatrist and mental health specialists, as well as with administrative and support staff.
Experience in delivering services to medically undeserved populations.
Experience with crisis intervention.
Multicultural competence as evidenced by education, training, and/or experience.

The physical activity of this position may include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting.
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.
Medium work, Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
