Purpose of the Position: Psychotherapists act as a guide toward helping their patients understand their condition and feelings, cope with daily life and manage their mental health to be able to function normally. This includes maintaining relationships and performing adequately at work or school, thus improving their quality of life.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry a clinical case load that will include providing individual, family, collateral and group treatment and crisis planning
- Part-time therapists are required to provide a minimum of 14 billable hours weekly.
- Work with individuals suffering from various mental health conditions such as stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, addiction, bipolar disorder, negative behavior patterns, schizophrenia, and other debilitating feelings.
- Design and implement assessment-based treatment plans for assigned cases.
- Provide direct treatment to clients in accord with clinical privileges.
- Involve families and collateral sources during treatment.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments during pre-admission leading to formulation of a diagnosis and subsequent admission to the clinic, if eligible.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training programs and consultation with team members.
- Participate in training and integrate evidence-based treatment in provision of clinical services.
- Prepare referral material for clients to secure services from other community resources such as SPOA services, housing, case management, vocation placement and/or otherwise.
- Perform all duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree and licensure in a discipline related to the treatment of mental illness (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) *Limited permits accepted on a case-by-case basis.
- Must have working knowledge and understanding of DSM V-TR.
- Psychotherapy experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) applicants, encouraged to apply.

Family Service provides more than 5,000,000 meals each year through a USDA food program in 85 Nebraska counties. This program feeds almost 21,000 children in more than 1,312 licensed home child-care facilities.
Family Service delivers the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program to 3,000 people in Lancaster County each month. Services include nutrition and breast feeding education as well as formula, milk and other staples.
